h 3.00- 6.00 PM ADVANCE TECHNIQUE: ELEVATE YOUR DANCE (intermediate level)
Take your dance to the next level. Learn to make isolations, flexibility, and technique an inherent part of your repertoire. Ariellah's workshop will begin with a focus on yoga and pilates-infused strengthening and stretching exercises that directly correlate to our bellydance movements and postures. These exercises will allow the student's body to open up to the movements of bellydance, including shoulders, chest, belly and hips AND will help aid in the body’s understanding of isolations.
Also in this workshop, the dancer will work through posturing, building strength to create an elevated energy in their dance, opening the body in order to gain a dancer’s flexibility, some advanced layering work and isolating core muscle groups for stronger movement.
SATURDAY 1 DECEMBER
h. 2.00-6.00 p.m THE DARKER SIDE OF MOVEMENT: DARKER FUSION BELLY DANCE COMBINATIONS AND CHOREOGRAPHY (intermediate level)
Don’t Just Stand There! Get up and DANCE, dance with powerful stage presence! Allow your body to project and tell a story filled with expression. Explore the floor…move like a dancer…explore arm and body transitions, moving combos and other related DANCE concepts, all with a darker flare. Also, learn Ariellah's unique style of belly dance by working with her on dark fusion belly dance combinations and choreography. The workshop includes a yoga/pilates infused warm up and repetitive drilling of dark fusion infused belly dance combinations. Dancers will possibly learn a short choreography that infuses the combinations learned in the workshop. There will possibly some lecture, writing and group exercises included in this workshop!
SUNDAY 2 DECEMBER
h 11.00-1.00 a.m/p.m CREEPY COMPLEX COMBOS (Mixed level/intermediate)
Work with Ariellah on a study of intricate unlikely combos that will hopefully challenge both mind and body. Allow yourself to think and dance outside the box but also add your own unique ideas and movement as a performance artist. Put all of your technical, movement and expressive skills to the test.

Movements Defined: Isolation Work (Mixed Level Workshop)
Learn to create those crisp and tidy locks and pops that very much define the modern forms of belly dance. Work to clearly articulate each movement through muscle memory and make each movement POP with energy, while remaining light and effortless. Emphasis will be placed on strengthening and proper technique in order to create strong isolations. Ariellah's workshop will begin with a focus on yoga and pilates-infused strengthening and stretching exercises that directly correlate to our bellydance movements and postures. These exercises will allow the student's body to open up to the movements of bellydance, including shoulders, chest, belly and hips AND will help aid in the body’s understanding of isolations. Repetitive drilling and combinations geared towards popping, locking and ticking movements will reinforce muscle memory of isolations and create clean and clear movement separation. Also, a short choreography will be learned to put all of these movements, drills, ideas and exercises to work!
